Hello! We've recently released the network for you all to publicly play on. We've installed the following plugins, and developments may come on them to better suit and balance the server when necessary. If they're updated, we'll immediately contact you all for what you think on the matter. This post will detail the goals and value of Vakiros!
ObsidianBreaker - This will explode obsidian via explosives. While there's different values for different explosions, you are able to effectively raid obsidian bases without the hassle of diamond pickaxes or claiming over, and having more of a competitive environment for protecting your land. It's recommended to add layering to your base, as demonstrated by popular factions within other communities.
Essentials - This provides a plethora of commands to add to your convenience. There are a few permissions that may be broken, but we're up and quick to fix it. You may make a forumpost or contact a developer+ by any means necessary so we can address it.
mcMMO - This adds a lot more to the world of factions. You learn dedication to a skill, and it kind of defines your role in the server. It causes more competition and battling over power and such cases, and among them, it will help you build yourself up to be more powerful. It's recommended to go all across the board in skills, as it's easier to manage.
Factions - The powerhouse of the server. Commands are scattered on www.massivecraft.com/factions.
MobArena - If you want quicker materials for your faction to sell and purchase, gain materials by fighting mobs in the Mob Arena. We currently have one open (basic), however that is set to change. You can compete with other players, increase your McMMO level, get good loot, and even make some friends in the process.
Plugins
NoCheatPlus - This is used to prevent hackers from dominating the server. While it may need a bit of tweaking, it does it's job effectively and is able to stop a lot of hacks, including lesser-used ones. If a moderator is not present to punish a cheater, this should make it less overpowering, or possibly fix it entirely. If hacking is still an issue, we can coat over it with some other plugins to prevent hacking.ObsidianBreaker - This will explode obsidian via explosives. Rules
It's safe to say that rules are an important part of a functioning server. We have a copy of them in-game with /rules, however here are the rules as follows (elaboration may be given on an official page):
- Maintain a casual and positive atmosphere at all times.
- Do not spam the server by any means.
- Do not link to objectional material.
- Do not advertise other servers.
- Do not direct hate toward any race, sex, or age.
- Do not distribute personal info of users.
- Do not encourage other users to break rules.
- Do not "evade" a ban (using an alt to escape an infraction)
- Do not impersonate another player, or staff member.
- Your skin and name should be appropriate.
- Do not publicly accuse players of hacking.
- Do not leave the game to avoid death.
- Do not lie to staff members or ask for mod.
- Do not grief members of your own faction.
- No kicking or leaving a faction prior to death (exploiting power loss)
- Do not use any form of hacked client.
- Do not blockglitch to enter another's base.
- Do not exploit or duplicate anything.
- Do not write inappropriate book & quill stories.
- Follow staff member's directions. If misled, report on forums.
- No tricking players via invite, kicking, and killing.StaffStaff Applications are currently open. Please consider applying, as any helping hands are welcome. With this in mind, we've already chosen a few select people to help get the factions server on it's feet; these people are known as resepignev, ViceWatercolour, Minori2000, and Dawning_. We will get to the established ranks in a moment: a warm welcome is encouraged for these few people. We also may continue the handpicking process, running it alongside staff applications, though nothing is set in stone. You will be alerted when we will switch over.RankingsThe following ranks are implemented/being implemented; here's a brief description of each.
Owners: Watch over the server. They manage developers and managers. resepignev & ViceWatercolour.
Developers: They work on configuration files, and if needed, our own plugins. Firei.
Managers: They do a lot of internal + behind-the-scenes work. Manage seniors and builders.
Senior Moderators: They manage the builders and moderators. Work on documents, help advertise...
Moderators: They are expected to moderate and represent us via the forums. Deal with baddies. Minori2000.
Trainee: They are moderators, but are limited to kicking and muting. Cannot ban.
Builder: They work on structures we need for the server. Dawning_ & ViceWatercolour.TransparencyI personally believe in transparency being the key factor to success, so I want to guarantee that we will release updates pertaining to the server so that there's no broken bridges or antennaes to solving what goes on in the server. To prevent rumors and unnecessary arguments carried out onto our services, we will release detailed posts on controversial events, and we will guarantee to post frequent updates (though not always on a fixed schedule). If you have a request to add to our agenda, you may post in "Ask the Staff" or "Server Feedback"; whichever it may be best suited for. Elaborate requests are preferred to be in "Server Feedback" for further comment, and if a staff member has an idea, they are also to post it there, so there's less bias.
Donations
We will release donation details soon. We will be using the BuyCraft system, and also use voting systems. We are proposing having item kits, and having one whole rank that provides a lot of perks that will mainly be focused on commands and recognition. We suggest the item kits go from $1-$2.50, and the rank going from $5-$10. Tipping is also a possibility for custom amounts; keep in mind, if you chargeback, we will terminate you across all BuyCraft services and ban you.
